Den 2 - Dubrovnik; Chorvatsko // Day 2 - Dubrovnik; Croatia
// Our first stop was Dubrovnik (Croatia). Today we could see our arrival because it should be circa in noon. We were going to sun deck to see it from the best angle. We had to wait until Costa ship will leave a port .. just to be able to park instead of Costa Fascinosa right behind Celebrity (hi again Celebrity). Hope that captain of Costa Fascinosa would be more careful then captain of Costa Concordia 2 years ago in Italy… you know what happened.
Jedeme autobusem do centra. Když řidič nadhodil otázku, proč by proboha měli?
// Suddenly it started to rain. Luckily, one of my many things from my (huge) suitcase was umbrella. So it was good because I could at least use it (and all laughed to me that I won’t never need it here). Ups, I will need it fairly much. :D
We caught a bus to the city centre. Bus driver told us a story of one tourist with a special question. Tourist asked him “Whether the historical city boarders were taken away for the winter/ off season?” So a driver simply asked him why? He answered “ They were too clean. They couldn’t be here through the whole year.” Oh my god. Seriously? :-D Honestly, If I was a driver I wouldn’t have any idea what to tell him because I would laugh so much.
Jdeme do kavárny (Pravidlo číslo jedna - Hlavně najít kavárnu!). Jmenuje se “Hard Jazz Cafe”. Každý stůl, u kterého sedíme i ostatní jsou staré šicí stroje.
6.12. 1991. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Dubrovnik).
Nakonec jsme si šli koupit zmrzlinu. Víte co je vtipné? 1 chorvatský kopeček = 5 českých kopečků :D
// Old town was beautiful. I liked the seclusion of the little side streets. Every single one was somehow special. For example one of them was full of restaurants. Another one had a windows full of hanging clothes (quite practical in this weather) and so one..
I had lots of opportunities to take many photos with some story.. Also it seemed like a city of cats and pigeons... We were wandering through the old centre and guess what? We took a seat at café. (Rule n°1 - always find a café!). It was called “Hard Jazz Cafe” and every single table was the old sewing machine...Then we went back to the gate through the Široka street. Some posters hung on the wall and they represented the attack by Serbians on 6 December 1991. It had to be terrible. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Dubrovnik).
After all we bought ice cream. You know what’s funny? 1 Croatian scoop = 5 Czech scoops. :D
Opravdu to stálo za to, si těch pár schodů sem vystoupat. Dokonce se nám i krásně vylepšilo počasí!
// Than I continued only with my dad and brother. We appeared next to small boat rent where we went up to the fort. There were small houses (or storages? I do not know) in a rock. It looked like a Hobbit houses from Lord of the Rings.
Phew we made it and it was totally worth seeing! There was such a beautiful view of the whole old city and also weather got better!
// We were about to go back. We found a sign at the exit which said “Non bene pro toto libertas venditur auro" = Latin for "Liberty is not well sold for all the gold”... We waited for a bus. It was time to go back to the ship. In the evening we watched our port leaving and afterwards we went to the theatre. I should mention that also Norwegian Jade has its own theatre with a capacity of 1006 seats. Today’s performance was an acrobatic show with the main theme - LOVE.
