Není Carcassonne jako Carcassonne // Carcassonne, not quite what we had in mind

Carcassonne. To je jeden takový veselý rodinný příběh. Jestlipak uhádnete, proč jsme tuto destinaci zvolili do naší expedice? Pokud někdo z vás zná hru Carcassone a zároveň ví, že existuje i takové místo, tak si to určitě spojí dohromady. Řeknete si, že se pojedete podívat, jak to tam vypadá, když už je to cestou a tak obecně pojedete zjistit, podle čeho ta hra vlastně vznikla. Jenže na místě zjistíte, že francouzské Carcassonne nemá vůbec nic společného s hrou Carcassonne. Hra vznikla v Německu, takže jste vlastně úplně špatně. To samozřejmě ale zjistíte až na místě, kdy si to vygooglíte, když po celé procházce města nenarazíte na jedinou zmínku o této hře. I to se stane. Ale nechci to brát nějak černě. Francouzské Carcassone, které sice se hrou nemá nic společného, je zajímavé a pěkné místo. Při vstupu do La Cité se ocitnete ve středověkém ohraničeném městečku a rázem zjistíte, jak je všechno jiné, výjimečné. Jako z pohádek.

If you know the board game called Carcassonne you might know as well that there is an actual place with the same name. Some of you might go and visit this place just to see how it looks like in real life, find the story behind the game etc... But when you actually arrive, you will realise that this place, French Carcassonne, has nothing in common with the board game. In any case, you will realise this when you are already there because you will curiously google the reason why there is no sign of this game in this town - and then you find out that the game is originally from Germany, so you are in a totally wrong place. Well, it happens. The end of the story.

There's nothing bad at all about this Carcassonne, the place is actually really nice and interesting. When you enter the main entrance to La Cité, you will appear in a medieval bordered town and you will suddenly realise how everything is so different yet exceptional. Just like a fairytale.
